Wang Put Tan Boutique Hotel

Dinner at Wang Put Tan Boutique Hotel was a real treat. The stewed pork, Yunnan noodles, and tea leaf salad were all excellent, and breakfast was fresh, delicious, and generous with lots of choice. Our family room had loads of space for four and a spectacular mountain view. The staff made us feel welcome, and the hotel was so peaceful. We had a wonderful stay and will return when we’re next in the area.

Ju was lovely and helped us with recommendations, scooter rental, and airport transport. We’d happily stay again. After two months traveling around Southeast Asia, Wang Put Tan Hotel may be our favorite, especially for the price. The included breakfast was huge and delicious, and the view from the restaurant and every room was outstanding. The beds struck a great balance between firm and soft, unlike many mattresses in SEA, and had extra cozy winter comforters. There is a rooster, as someone else mentioned, but they’re all over the valley, so bring earplugs. 10/10.

The local breakfast tray was the best part, so tasty and filling. We had some of the best boiled rice we’ve ever tried. The hotel views completely wowed us, and the bedroom felt very cozy, with decor that suited the atmosphere. There was complimentary tea in the room, along with the cutest little tea set.

The room was spacious and had a really good view, and the breakfast was fine, with local tea and Chinese food. But I chose this place for the view and good reviews, and ended up exhausted after one night because I couldn’t rest. There was a banging sound all night, probably from the wind, then a rooster started crowing under my window at 4:30 a.m. I also found a cockroach that ran out of a hole by the bed and onto it before I dealt with it. There were ants too, though they didn’t bother me.
