Morning Star Glamping

The staff made a strong impression on me. Everyone I met greeted me warmly, and their genuine smiles felt more like seeing old friends than meeting hotel staff. They were professional and helpful, from sharing local tips to saying a cheerful good morning at breakfast. Morning Star Glamping gave me a deeply restful stay. For me, the best luxury was that human warmth and the calming feel of nature, rather than marble or chandeliers. It was a level of comfort and relaxation that felt healing after a weary stretch.

Be careful if you see a cheap reservation on an app, and DON’T BOOK IT!!! In January I booked the Jomo room through A__da for 2,820 THB. In April I noticed the Kissing Star room type showing for 4,000 on A__da, and checked the price over two or three days to make sure it wasn’t a mistake. I asked the hotel to cancel my old booking so I could rebook the new room type. After booking, I called the hotel to confirm. They said it was fine, but A__da was showing the wrong price. I called A__da’s call center to check, and they confirmed there was no problem with the booking. The next day A__da called me to cancel it. I had to book the Jomo room again, the one I’d booked before, but the new price was 9,000 THB??? It wasn’t my mistake, yet I had to pay more and more. The hotel blamed A__da, and A__da blamed the hotel. Whatever, I’m the one who paid more for their mistake. UNPROFESSIONAL.

Khun B and the rest of the staff were especially polite and attentive. They made us feel like honored guests, almost VIPs in our own private retreat. The bathroom was another highlight, with a bathtub facing the mountain. I could soak and look out at untouched nature, and the electric toilet pan was a surprisingly nice touch, warm and comfortable. The glass house at The Kissing Stars in Chiang Mai sits high on a mountain, with wide views of a huge green mountain range and a waterfall track across the view. It felt like living in a postcard. The higher elevation also meant no insects or mosquitoes for us, which made being close to nature comfortable. Inside, there was plenty of room, two cozy, elegant queen beds, a massage chair, and a large projector screen for movie nights. Two soft furry lounge chairs face the panoramic glass walls, where we watched colorful butterflies flutter by. I’ll be telling people about this memorable place.

We gave it five stars for the setting and atmosphere, and I’d go back to try the other places to stay at the foot of the river. Kissing Star Glamping is one of several different room types, and ours looked out over the River. It was a welcome break from city life, with a tightly sealed, air-conditioned room and a bunch of snacks since there’s no store, including 7-11, nearby. There are plenty of bugs and critters, so bring good mosquito repellent. We used the outdoor tub in the rain, which was perfect. In sunshine it gets too hot, and at night the bugs come out, rodents included. This is really a place to relax and get away. There isn’t much within walking distance, and you’ll need a vehicle or ride to go anywhere. There are lots of loose dogs around, and some can be aggressive.
