The owner was so thoughtful and really looked after us, making the stay feel romantic. The staff were kind and gentle, too. I loved this unique hotel, especially the owner’s creative touches throughout. It’s set in nature but only 500 meters from Walking Street. Highly recommend!

Just 500 meters from the Mae Kampong walking street, The Garret Mae Kampong has easy access to the village attractions while still feeling peaceful. There’s convenient parking on site. Beside a waterfall, this serene retreat combines old-world charm with a bohemian feel. The 30-year-old house was recently renovated into a stylish, distinctive getaway.

I stayed here in ChiangMai for two weeks, and it was the best homestay ever. The owner treated guests like family or friends, and I felt her warmth and sincerity as soon as I arrived. She designed and made everything herself, and the care she put into decorating the resort amazed me. It felt like an art museum, with every masterpiece precious and beautiful. The waterfall is right next to the resort, so you can enjoy the view all the time. Mae Kampong Village is close enough to walk to, though I’d suggest local transport. Just ask the owner where to wait, and she can help. I drove, and parking wasn’t a problem. The owner showed me the spaces and had someone help carry my luggage all the way to the resort. When she found out I’m vegetarian, she specially prepared breakfast for me: spaghetti with eggs, a croissant, and bread with jam and butter. I felt how sincerely she treats everyone. I was so lucky to book this place. It was an incredible experience, and if I could give it 10 stars, I would. I’d definitely visit her again.
