The Stream House at Mae Kampong

The room is spacious and modern, with easy access to the stream nearby. But for a place that looks this luxurious, it felt incomplete. There were no basic things like mugs, tea, or coffee, and I was disappointed not to be able to enjoy the stream view with a cup of coffee. Soundproofing wasn’t great either. We could hear a family with two children upstairs playing and running loudly around the room.

The weather was great, and the place has its own parking. We were glad it was only one night, though the two-bedroom layout, with two beds in each room, could work well for a big family. The rooms are huge, but I found mine scary at night. The colors are very dull and gloomy, though they did provide plenty of lighting. There’s no TV or slippers, and each room had two bottles of water, two face towels, and bath towels. Amenities were basically zero because it’s a homestay. There is a mini kitchenette, but I didn’t dare use it. The location is very far from the popular sightseeing spots.

My room was really spacious, and I could hear the river flowing. The host was great and very helpful with everything I needed.
