Monte Maesot Hotel

For an affordable stay, this was a comfortable choice. The room was clean, and the bed wasn't hard. Breakfast was good, the usual hotel kind. They have drinks and snacks in the lobby, and there are a couple of places to eat nearby.

We thought it was great value for what we paid. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly. The location was alright, just a few minutes by motorbike from the centre, with a nice bar next door.

I've stayed here several times and keep coming back because it's a good value, especially if you don't think The Teak is worth the price. The rooms are very clean, maybe even too big, lol. Water pressure is strong, the bed is comfortable, and the AC gets freezing cold. There's no electric card lock, so you have to lock the door manually each time. It took me a while to get used to that. The security guy stays alert and never seems to sleep on the job. I've never had a problem. They used to have a super cute dog called Mali. I heard she's been adopted now. Sad, but good for her 🥹

The receptionists were unfriendly throughout my stay, with no smiles or warmth. They talked about me in their own language right in front of me, which felt extremely disrespectful. Basic communication and courtesy were missing. I asked for a three-hour late checkout because of my flight. The hotel didn't seem busy, but staff said I'd have to pay extra. After we talked, they agreed to just one extra hour. When I checked out the next day, they still tried to charge me for that hour. I refused because we'd already agreed to it, and I found that unfair and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place to travelers who care about customer service and a little goodwill.
