Ao Nang Village Resort

The location is decent, and my room was spacious, though old-fashioned. The water pressure, hot water, and air conditioning were all okay, but securing the balcony door was really difficult. Most of the staff don't speak English, so if you have a problem, they may ignore it or fail to sort it out. Those are pretty basic things, and I'd pay extra to stay somewhere else. One more thing: the man outside the hotel said my airport transfer for 600 Bhat would be an SUV, but a minibus arrived instead. Keep that in mind if you try to book anything else through him.

The hotel's only real plus was its location in busy Ao Nang. The rooms were dirty when we arrived, and people in our tour group ran into all kinds of problems: toothpaste-stained sinks, stained and hairy sheets, bad mattresses, sandy floors, smelly balconies, doors that wouldn't lock, and barely usable bathrooms with mould, hair, standing water, dripping taps, weak showers, or filthy curtains. It was a big disappointment. The air conditioning worked well, the fridge functioned well enough to keep strawberry yogurts edible, and the pool was nice. One morning, staff woke us early by laughing loudly beside our balcony before their shift. It was disturbing. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to a friend.

The hotel was shockingly dirty, nothing like the fake-looking photos online. Even the towels were yellowed and badly stained. I paid an extra €10 for breakfast, which was a joke: a tiny buffet, watered-down artificial juice, and instant coffee packets. Outside, you can get fresh juice and eggs for half the price. Worst was the bar waiter, who was rude and refused to make a simple coffee even though breakfast was included. The service was terrible, the place filthy, and breakfast awful. Absolutely not recommended. Other reviews describe many of the same problems.

An average resort in a great location. The rooms are alright, but the bathrooms feel old and need updating. The balcony and pool area are really good.
