Chaiyaphruk Grand Hotel

The receptionist was friendly, and the spot works well for the Ya Mo area. Still, this wasn’t what I expected from an OYO hotel. There was only one parking space left when I arrived, and the WiFi was too weak to use, so I had to switch to mobile 5G. The bed cover was very worn and old. I also missed having coffee or tea in the room, and that cost it a star.

The night-shift Uncle told me the washing machine was broken and pointed me to a laundry machine about 100 meters down the alley. It turned out to be at another hotel, where a very nice woman at the counter offered to show me a room. That place was much cleaner and more modern than OYO 702 Chaiyaphruk Grand Hotel, and cost 350 baht a night, 50 baht less than the 400 baht I paid here. Earlier, the mom working the day shift had said laundry was free and that I could give my dirty clothes to her to wash. Happy accident, I guess 😅

The bathroom smelled like last week’s regrets, and the sinks looked completely worn out. The sheets seemed to have been through a war, while the walls had a thousand dirty stories to tell. The room felt like a biohazard.

The room was dirty, and the towel had stains. The location also wasn’t particularly close to the city center. At reception, the staff need training in customer service and manners. They couldn’t even manage a smile, with their faces stuck like that.
