U Place Korat

There’s not much right around the hotel, although you can find a few 7/11s and a food market nearby. The Mall is a five-minute walk away, and Terminal21 takes about ten minutes by car. The building is modern and well kept, with guest parking out front. Rooms are clean and a decent size, thoughtfully furnished with a smart TV, mini fridge, air conditioning, kettle, hot water, and balcony. Wi-Fi never works. Staff speak English, and the price is above average.

I stayed for a month while in Korat. The bathroom was large, with good counter space and a glass divider between the shower and toilet. The newer TV was a nice size, but the fridge was tiny and made strange noises. The king bed was fairly comfortable by Thai standards, though the pillows felt a bit firm. I’d rate the place higher if the tile replacement on the floor below hadn’t caused so much daytime noise.

I spent two nights here with several colleagues from an airline, and the proprietor and staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The hotel was quiet and very clean, and the location worked well, with plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. Many thanks to the owner and team. Highly recommended!

The only thing I missed was English-language TV. The room had a flat-screen set that plays movies from a USB stick, so bring your own, and you’re set. It also had a coffee pot and free water. The room was huge, clean, and had a nice bathroom with a big shower and lots of hot water. This place ticked all the boxes for me.
