42C The Chic Hotel

I came here for the first time as a guest speaker. The function room had a pleasant atmosphere, and there was plenty of parking. My lecture was later in the morning, after lunch, which was a Chinese-style banquet of Thai food with rich, delicious flavors. It was raining when I arrived in the evening, so I ordered food and fruit to the room instead of going out. The prices were reasonable and everything tasted good. I slept comfortably. I didn’t eat much at breakfast, but I did enjoy the Kai Kra Ta (pan-fried eggs) and Khanom Krok (Thai coconut pancakes). It was a good experience.

I wouldn’t recommend the massage here. The therapist kept pausing to chat with the other therapist and then seemed to lose track of where she’d stopped. She didn’t work on my muscles much, spending a lot of time rubbing my ribs instead. The left and right sides were treated differently, and the price was twice what I’d pay on the street.

Good value for a simple hotel right downtown. There’s plenty of parking, some of it covered, plus a swimming pool. Breakfast is small, with an egg station where you order outside under a tent.

The rooms are nice, and the hotel feels worth the money. The swimming pool is good too. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, with limited options for both Western and Eastern visitors.
