Talkoo Beach Resort

The scenery and beach are beautiful, and parking right in front of your bungalow is handy. The rooms are decent, but a little run down. The staff seemed rather unfriendly or unsure.

I didn't stay overnight, just visited the cafe and used the pool. The drinks came from the cafe next door and were good.

The location is great, and we will definitely come back. There are nice beach bars and restaurants just steps away, and parking is available beside most rooms. We paid extra for an upgrade closer to the beach, but even though the resort was far from busy, our room was right by the kitchen. Around sunrise the staff talking and the coolers behind our back window got very loud. The beach was dirtier than I'd expected, with washed-up rubbish even for May. The dogs living at the resort were very sweet and clearly well cared for. We paid a 300 thb key deposit and got it back at checkout, but received only one key. The rooms are a bit rundown, as in the photo, and the bathroom could use a towel hanger and other improvements. The shower wand was stuck at waist level and the water pressure was very low, so it was hard to shower comfortably, even for a Thai bathroom. There are just two outlets in the unit, both two-prong. We bought a surge protector at 7-11 to use a computer and charge one phone at the same time. It's a 3-star place that needs upgrades, though the location makes it worthwhile.

It's a quiet spot to relax away from busy cities, with a good sea view. We stayed 3 days 2 nights. The resort seems old and could use better cleaning and maintenance. Having your own transport would help with getting to more sights and places to eat. Breakfast there was okok, though it seemed like the same thing every day.
