We stayed in a family room in the newer area, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms opening onto a shared dining space. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and very spacious, though at times they felt a bit empty. Ban Mon Makok Resort is a small cottage-style place with a minimalist, eco-friendly design, and the rates were very reasonable. It’s about 20 minutes from Lamphun Downtown and only a few minutes from Wat Phra Phutthabat Tak Pha, one of Lamphun’s well-known attractions. The restaurant had a limited selection of entrees, and breakfast had to be ordered a day ahead. A lovely lady managed the resort’s operations with help from a few other women on staff.

The restaurant food was excellent, and the hostess spoke English well. The accommodation was a very high standard, set in beautiful grounds, and good value too.
