Chateau de Khaoyai Hotel & Resort

We appreciated the spacious room, and the place had a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Some maintenance is needed, especially in the bathroom, where parts need fixing and more attention to detail. It was a nice stay, and the hotel could be even better with a few repairs.

We had nice panoramic views, with the mountain range on the horizon. This quiet hotel is set back from the main road, with spacious grounds and several European-style buildings and layout. Our room was comfortable, the staff were very friendly, and they offered buggy rides around the property. Breakfast was included, with some days served à la carte and others buffet style. A good place for a getaway.

The grounds are large and green, and the mountain views make it a peaceful place to relax or take photos. Its French countryside estate style gives the resort a distinctive feel. It's a quiet European-style place in the Khao Yai area, though the size means you may need a car to get between buildings. Some rooms and facilities also feel dated next to newer resorts.

The gardens were clean, and we liked the quiet, quaint surroundings across the large open grounds. The rooms were spacious, but the actual condition was nowhere near what the photos on Agoda or Google showed. The main lobby looked good and matched the description, but the rest of the compound was extremely run down. Block 3, rooms starting with 31XX, was in terrible shape. Our first-floor room had at least 30 drain flies in the toilet, and the shower pressure was painfully slow. One morning the water heater failed halfway through, so we had a cold shower. The technician took ages to arrive. The air conditioner looked like it needed basic attention and might need replacing. On our third night, the heater broke down halfway through a shower, leaving us with cold water in December. Our second-floor room, 32XX, was slightly better, but the water pressure was very low in both the shower and toilet. Bathing was difficult, especially washing long hair. The toilet clogged several times, so we had to pour water in to flush it manually. We asked housekeeping to deal with both problems, but nothing was resolved, and we gave up. Breakfast had very limited options, and the coffee was much too thick and bitter. The stay had some pleasant parts, but the room conditions made it the worst hotel stay we've had in Khao Yai after many visits. We'll definitely not stay here again. The good parts were the spacious room, peaceful and quaint setting, open landscape and clean gardens.
