Andaman Beach Suites Hotel

The Sky Lounge on the 19th floor has a magnificent view. We also found the outdoor area a great place to unwind, and city traffic and street noise weren’t an issue. Staff were very friendly, and the tennis court has recently been renovated. It feels like an oasis in the middle of the busy city. We’re looking forward to coming back 😃 Thank you, team Andaman 🙏🇹🇭

The view is the best part, and the beach is less than a five-minute walk away. The staff are friendly, but cleaning needs more attention and training. Communication was difficult because of language barriers, even in English. The building is very old and needs a lot of maintenance, especially in the bathrooms. We tried two rooms, and the showers needed repairs in both. You can hear all kinds of sounds from other rooms, and wind whistled through the door unless we opened it.

The location is excellent, the rooms are spacious with amazing views, breakfast is good, and the hotel feels safe. It’s a shame that poor upkeep takes away from the value of such a beautiful place with good facilities. Our room smelled awful from the bathroom when we checked in. A scented candle had been left there to cover it, and we put it out before leaving because we were worried it might start a fire. The sink didn’t work at first. I expected a room change, but they sent someone to repair it instead. The shower door wouldn’t close, so water got onto the floor, and the room had stains and rust. The water came out yellow. This was our second hotel in Phuket and third in Thailand, so we don’t think it was a country or city issue. The staff ignored the problems, apparently hoping guests wouldn’t notice. They should at least warn people about the water and the shower. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until the hotel is renovated and properly maintained.

The staff were very friendly, the view from the main building was stunning, the pools were nice, and breakfast had plenty of options. I appreciated their effort to help, but all the rooms they showed us were really subpar. We had to look at several rooms before settling on the third. The first smelled musty and had bugs coming from under the mattress. In the second, melted ice from the fridge had left water on the floor, and there was mold behind it. All the rooms had such a strong air freshener smell that it seemed to be covering something musty. Even in the third room, bugs came out from behind the TV console, so we used our own bug spray every day. It seemed related to the high humidity and the room not being kept cold enough. The cleanliness made us feel unwelcome. I asked for a refund after seeing the first two rooms, but they wouldn’t agree and kept offering alternatives. We accepted one because they wouldn’t refund us. The furniture and interiors, especially the bathroom, also need major renovation and feel outdated for a four-star hotel.
