Baantonsai Garden Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

We paid £62 for five nights, which was easily the cheapest place near the city centre. For the price, it really delivers. The pool and AC were good to have, and we were close to pretty much everything, so getting around was easy. It was clean and comfortable, and I really enjoyed staying here. I'd come back without a second thought.

There was no safe in the room, and cash seems to have gone missing from our bags during our stay. We arrived at 2 pm and were told the room would be ready in 20 minutes. That wait stretched to an hour, and nobody offered to store our bags while we went out. The bed was rock hard and the AC was extremely loud. There was no hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, or face cloth. The fridge also switched off whenever we took out the key card, which made it pretty useless. I'm not usually one to complain, but the facilities were a real disappointment.

The property is old, and the room had just a fridge and an old TV, with no hotline or coffee maker. Whenever you need anything, you have to go to reception. It's about 850 meters from Patong beach. I stayed from 2nd Jan to 5th Jan 2026. They kept my 500 baht deposit and refused to refund it, saying there was a stain on the pillow cover and washing it would cost them 650 baht. They then demanded another 150 baht from me. Don't they wash the sheets and pillow covers after a guest leaves? That's a basic hotel practice.

The staff, both men and women, were unpleasant, and the receptionist spoke to customers rudely and disrespectfully, seeming emotional. The pool was small and the water very dirty. This place is terrible and needs to improve.
