Big Boys' Bed & Burger

We’d definitely come back. The staff were incredibly hospitable and the service was excellent. Our room was nice and decent, with a balcony overlooking patong beach. Everything is accessible, with the walking street only a few blocks away and shops and 7-11 at the corner. Free laundry, plus a discount at their burger restaurant downstairs.

The staff turned out to be fair and professional. They refunded us for the two nights we didn’t stay within a couple of days, which we appreciated. They also offer free laundry as part of their usual policy, a really useful touch for guests. The room had such a strong mothball smell that it was unbearable and impossible to sleep. We complained right away and were offered another room, but it smelled just as bad, so it seemed to be a hotel-wide issue. One suggestion: replace the strong naphthalene smell with lavender or another more natural option.

Finding an affordable room in Thailand during the January-February peak season felt like a bit of luck. The rooms are pretty good and the value is very good, though the showers could do with a new coat of paint. Kio and Ernest were great managers, always quick to help, even when they were off shift or at home.

The staff were so friendly, and they even took care of our dirty laundry. While we waited for the food, they brought out some games. The room was clean, the location was great, and we liked the burgers at the restaurant too.
