Eden Resort & Villas

Even though it’s right in central Patong, the resort feels like a quiet oasis. The rooms are modern, nicely equipped, and have cozy lighting and very quiet air conditioning. The staff were kind and helpful too.

Breakfast was a nice part of our stay, with choices from both the menu and the buffet. Eden Resort & Villas has a stylish, welcoming feel, and its location worked well for us: it’s tucked away from the busy parts of Phuket but still central enough to reach on foot or with a short drive. We liked the calm, intimate atmosphere and the minimalist, natural decor. We’d recommend it.

The water problem on our second morning was the worst part of the stay. The sink and shower suddenly stopped working, and after nearly 15 minutes the water came back muddy and dirty. We reported it straight away. Maintenance came in twice, but even though it improved a little, the water still wasn’t usable. We couldn’t wash or freshen up for the whole morning, which seriously affected our stay. At checkout we explained this to the manager and asked for a fair remedy. He offered a late checkout, but we already had afternoon plans, so it didn’t help. We asked if part of the room cost could be refunded for the inconvenience. His response was infuriating: “We cannot refund a single cent. All the guests experienced this issue, and they all understood. Why can’t you understand?” We don’t think guests should have to accept a failure of basic water service as something requiring their understanding. The check-in had already started things off badly. The lobby staff were cold and dismissive when we arrived. The design is impressive and exquisite, but that was about the only real advantage. This was the most disappointing and least value-for-money hotel stay I’ve ever had.

The staff made us feel very welcome. They were warm and helpful, and the location was handy for getting around Patong. The rooms were just okay, though, and visible dirt marks on the walls spoiled them a bit. Breakfast also had pretty limited choices and needs work. With a few improvements, this place could be much better.
