DJ was a huge help while we were settling in at the start of the trip. He was attentive, upbeat, knowledgeable, and we really connected with him. We’re grateful for the help and he’s a real asset to Absolute. The ladies at the lower pools near the pizza restaurant were also so helpful, especially with my son’s online schooling and charging his computer. The gym was fabulous, too. The resort itself was great, with delicious breakfast and amazing pizza. And a special mention for the short-haired lady at the bar near reception: she was always kind, happy, and welcoming. About two weeks after checkout, we ran into her at Naka Market, and she came over to say hello. I was amazed she remembered us and took the time to greet us on her own time. That really showed her positive attitude and how far she goes for guests.

The location and natural setting are beautiful, and Merlin Beach is just a lovely three-minute walk away. But the problems on our first day ended up overshadowing the holiday. There was no electricity from about 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, so we had no hot water or air conditioning, and the room telephone didn’t work either. We’d arrived at 2:00 AM and had written the day before to let the hotel know we’d be late. They confirmed they’d received that message, but never warned us about the outage. Guests should have been told about something that disruptive beforehand. Management offered a complimentary spa day, but the spa was shut because of the same power issue. Since we stayed just two nights, we couldn’t use it another day, so the offer didn’t help. Meanwhile, the neighboring Marriott Resort & Spa had working generators and everything was operating normally. We ended up paying extra to spend the day there just to have basics like electricity, a shower, and air conditioning. The lack of basic amenities and communication made our stay disappointing.

We were a little outside central Patong, so getting into town and back took longer, but that suited us because the stay was peaceful and away from the Songkran water festival noise. Traffic during Songkran can be wild, so be ready for delays of up to five hours at times. The resort itself was superb: clean, neat, well serviced, with lovely rooms, great pools and bars, and really friendly staff. Jenb and Pare (spelling) cleaned our rooms, and they were always spotless. It’s easy to get a Grab taxi or car into Patong. The hotel is good value and close to Merlin Beach, Tritrang Beach, and Paradise beach. Ka Thai restaurant nearby serves amazing food, and the hotel restaurants are great too, with lots of specials and theme nights. I’ll definitely stay at Absolute Twin Sands again.

We spent seven days at Absolute Twin Sands as a family of two adults, two older teens, and a six-year-old, on a holiday package deal. DJ was our representative from Absolute, the hotel chain, and he did so much to help us enjoy the resort and Phuket. He showed us the best features and was a great asset, even though he said he’d only been in the job for a month. We had two adjoining rooms overlooking the pools and mountains, both with kitchens, bathrooms, TV areas, and big beds. We could see the sea from our balconies. The pools were great, and Merlin beach was just a two to three minute walk away. We snorkelled there and saw lots of beautiful fish. Guitar cleaned our rooms all seven days and was amazing and hardworking. DJ offered us a great ongoing holiday package, but with our family size, uncertainty in the world with the new war in Iran, and current travel costs, we couldn’t opt in. I’d still absolutely recommend Absolute Twin Sands Phuket. The one negative thing I heard was that breakfast was awful, though we didn’t try it ourselves.

This is a beautiful resort and feels like coming home whenever I visit. It’s my third stay, and I’ll keep coming back. There are four pools, two restaurants, a sports bar, and 180 degree spa treatments. The staff work hard to make sure you have a great time. I don’t know many places where you can swim at 11 at night. Absolute 💯
