Ocean View Treasure Residence

The room itself was clean, though there was rust on the kettle, in the bathroom, and in the shower. The beds were literally rock hard, and one pillow felt like a rock too. They wanted 200 baht for extra pillows. Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby and pool area, not in the room, and the TV worked only sometimes. The room's only other light was an interesting lamp. The pool was freezing, and the buffet breakfast had very limited choices. The first accommodation photo showed a beach, but when we arrived there was no beach in sight. The location wasn't great, so check how far you'd need to walk.

N.U.N. at reception, the lovely lady wearing a hijab, was incredibly kind and helpful to us. She had recommendations for other islands we wanted to visit, and even helped us find places to stay on Phi Phi Island and in Krabi. We really appreciated her warm welcome and positive energy. Every hotel needs receptionists like her, and we hope to see her again next time!

Calling this a three-star hotel is generous. The walk to the beach takes 25-30 minutes, and you can only catch a tiny glimpse of the ocean, hence “ocean view.” The Wi-Fi didn't work in the room. The beds were horrible and uncomfortable, with just one pillow per person. The room itself was big and clean for three people.

The hotel's photos make it look like a four-star place, thanks to a very professional photographer, but calling it two stars would already be generous. We booked two bedrooms and were given a room with one large bed instead. They said no other rooms were available and promised to move us the next morning. The room is okay, but things don't always work. The AC sometimes cuts out, and you have to walk all the way to reception to get it fixed. The TV is so far from the bed that you have to sit on the edge to watch, and it sometimes stops working and displays error messages. Reception isn't staffed at night, so if something goes wrong then, you're on your own.
