Patong Poshtel - Adults Only - Hostel

There are a lot of rules here, and I checked out after just one day. No activities or socializing, and the place is poorly laid out, with no elevator and drinking water only on the top floor. I've never seen that at another hostel. They turn off the room AC every afternoon from 12 to 7, right when the noon heat is worst. They seem to forget that in Thailand people stay out late and sleep during the day. The common-area AC runs only from 12 to 5, so evenings there mean putting up with the heat. Checkout is another issue, they charge 100 baht per hour for a late departure, while other places allow up to an hour free. There are plenty of other rules too. Nearby hostels are more pleasant, relaxed, and customer friendly.

The room itself could have been fine, but there are gaps in the balcony, so it can't really be closed. With the road noise coming through, it feels like you're living on the street. Traffic goes all night and every sound is very loud, so I couldn't sleep at all. We asked the staff for another room, but they said the same problem would be everywhere and nothing could be done.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable, and sleeping here was practically impossible. Although the place is clean and well maintained, the balcony faces the road and won't close fully, so it feels like sleeping right on the street, almost like being homeless.

The beds are incredibly hard, and one morning the hallway was covered in diarrhoea. See photo. The hostel seems to deny that I stayed there to avoid this review. When I edited my review, the online staff were very unprofessional and insisted they couldn't change my booking because I'd left a one-star review, which was the reason I was asking. Luckily, Sweett Lemon Hostel had the same policy but treated me much more kindly and helpfully. I'd avoid this place if you have other options.
