The Corner Hotel

I stayed with six friends from December 26-28, 2024, because this was the only place available for New Year’s. We wouldn’t have chosen it otherwise. Our room was clean and comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, even if it wasn’t luxurious. Still, I’d give the hotel 2 out of 5 stars. The problems with the location and service outweighed the good points, and we’d had a better stay at Moon Inn, just two streets away. The street was a gay area, with a gay bar right in front of the gate. We had no issue with that, but the crowds and noise at night were overwhelming. Check-in took far too long, and reception was often empty when we needed help. There was no elevator, so we had to climb to the third floor.

The noise went on until 3am, so this might work if you’re here to party, but not if you’re on a long holiday or need to get up early for trips. I also had dirty water coming from the shower and tap. When I reported it, they just laughed. There were ants around, and my room wasn’t cleaned on certain days. It felt extremely lazy.

Friendly staff, a great host, and a clean place. The pool was amazing, and the gym was good. It was quiet after midnight.

For a low room price, you get a clean, solid room in the center with everything you need. The staff are very friendly. I’d be fine staying 1-3 days, but wouldn’t choose it for a whole week. Check-in was a bit slow, with lots of paperwork, and the process wasn’t digital.
