The Guest House

I was sent to another building about 500 meters from the location, and had to walk there. The room was extremely hot, and the air conditioning wouldn’t work properly. I checked in during the day and went out, then spent the first two hours after returning at night trying to turn it on. It was stuck on F0, which I didn’t understand. I tried to sleep with the fan, but couldn’t. The ground-floor room had a transparent mirror door, with only cotton in the room, and it felt clearly unsafe. At night I went to reception, but nobody was there. I called several times and tried to reach them on Line, with no response. I couldn’t sleep, so I left the key at reception, went out, and booked another hotel. Worst hotel ever, please don’t go. The transparent window had no door. In my uploaded image, the cotton below the AC is visible, and behind it is a big window that serves as the main door.

The staff are friendly, and when we mentioned the water heater wasn’t working, they fixed it in under three minutes. The housekeeper asks before cleaning, which I appreciated since our valuables were lying around and I prefer to be in the room while she works. She changed the bedding quickly. Just tell the hosts what you need and they’ll help. The AC looks new and is quiet. I’m a light sleeper, but with the windows and doors shut, outside sounds, especially motorbikes, were faint. Essentials aren’t as good as at a five-star hotel, but overall it’s good, and there are English channels. Family Mart and 7-Eleven are a short walk away, though plenty of convenience stores around here are closed. There’s a washer and dryer right in front, cheaper than other laundry machines. A nearby hair salon rents motorbikes for 2500 baht a month. The neighbors next to the guest house are very friendly, and the beach is under a 10-minute walk. The guest house gave us a map to find it.

The view from my room was beautiful, with hills all around, and the room itself was huge and better furnished than I expected. The price felt like great value, and I had a good stay overall. My first impression of the staff wasn’t great, but they were nice after check-in. The AC was the problem. It didn’t work properly and leaked water that spread across the room. Still, I’d like to stay there again.

For what we paid, the room was really comfortable and came with a balcony. They cleaned it daily and left fresh towels each day, which was great value in this price range. The beach is quite far away, and we did have ants in the room.
