The House Patong

I only booked one night on Agoda because I was arriving at midnight, then moving to another hotel for my vacation. When I checked out the next day, the receptionist said they'd lost a spoon. I hadn't eaten in the room or bought food there, and I didn't even have the free tea or coffee, so why would I have taken a spoon? The service was poor. I had planned to book here again, but forget it. I'm never coming back.

Good value hotel with good service and a nice area. You can walk to nearly everything, and it's not just tourist spots. You also get to see local people going about their daily lives.

Before traveling to Thailand, I booked four rooms for ten days. When I arrived, I found out the booking wasn't confirmed because, according to the hotel, the receptionist had taken the money and run away. I lost almost 26,000 baht, and the hotel did nothing for me. Even the police couldn't do anything. I honestly can't imagine how this happened. It was worse than a bad experience, and I'd advise people to be careful before reserving. I don't recommend this hotel.

The location worked well for me. Everything Patong is known for was an easy ten-minute walk away, while the hotel itself was outside the center of all the activity. There's a night market across the road with local food. The rooms matched the pictures, nothing was hidden, and everything worked. The curtains blocked the neon lights, the air conditioning was great, and the WiFi held up for music streaming. Room service was helpful, and issues were dealt with quickly through Line or phone, even though I think I saw someone at reception only once during nearly a month there. Over my three-and-a-half-week stay, I ran into bathroom water issues, and the mattresses were so new they still had rustling plastic on them. The pillows were bad enough that I bought my own. Still, I recommend the place.
