The Royal Paradise Hotel & Spa

Breakfast was a strong point. The buffet area was well maintained and consistently stocked, with an impressive spread that I'd recommend. The location was convenient too, with plenty of Indian and Thai restaurants nearby, around 500 metres from Patong Beach and 250 metres from Bangla Street, as shown on Google and Apple Maps. The rooms were small for the price. We paid about 35% more than at comparable hotels for two rooms over four nights, based on a promise of partial sea views. From the bed in one room, there was no visible sea at any angle. You had to stand on the balcony or by the sliding doors to see it. The other room had a limited view, around 20% sea and 80% city. The front desk staff seemed to lack basic hospitality skills, which made the service disappointing. The room quality, view expectations, and desk service need significant improvement to justify the premium. Check-in: 10 April 2026. Checkout: 14 April 2026. Two rooms, three travellers.

The staff at the entrance were lovely, and the hotel has a nice restaurant. It's surrounded by laundromats, chemists, massage places, restaurants, and entertainment. The lifts look out over the gorgeous beach as you go up to the higher floors. In-room service was efficient, and breakfast was good too. The rooms work fine and are nice, but they're a bit run down. The baths and the architecture could use updating, so you might miss that 5-star finish. I'd still call it 5 STAR overall.

The birthday surprise made my stay especially memorable. At breakfast, I found a lovely birthday setup with a cake, and the staff sang for me. It was a really thoughtful, heartwarming gesture. I felt welcomed and well looked after from arrival. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were warm, attentive, friendly, and professional. My room was spotless, beautifully designed, quiet, and comfortable, with a particularly cozy bed and all the amenities thoughtfully prepared. The facilities were excellent, and breakfast had lots of delicious choices. I'd recommend the hotel for a comfortable stay and will definitely come back. I've stayed at the Royal Paradise Hotel in Patong eight times over the years, most recently in 2019. It's a great hotel, though it could use a refresh. Only the pool area has been renovated, and it looks great. The room we had by the pool was excellent, but the Wi-Fi was very bad. The hotel checked it, yet the problem continued, making it hard to get work done. I'm also concerned about security. I left my sunglasses by the pool while swimming for over an hour, and they were gone when I got out. Pool staff didn't seem to care when I reported it. Reception only had one camera, and it was so poor they couldn't see who took them. Please watch your valuables. I can't tell whether staff or another guest stole them, but either way the security was very bad. The hotel is good and needs some fine tuning. I hope this honest review helps.
