TJ Patong Hotel

I’d already paid for my booking, but when I arrived they wouldn’t let me check in unless I paid a cash deposit. That requirement hadn’t been made clear when I booked. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and kept insisting on cash even though the policy wasn’t transparently shown on Booking.com. I was left stranded and had to take it up with Booking.com, who confirmed the hotel was at fault. No hospitality or transparency at all. Scammers and liars. Avoid if you want a stress-free trip.

I was on the fifth floor with a lot of equipment, and getting up there was a challenge since there’s no elevator. The staff were impatient and unprofessional, and I came away terribly disappointed with the place. I usually leave good reviews and even have a reviews page on Google, but I really wasn’t happy with this choice. I didn’t come.

The service was beyond praise, but from the moment we arrived, the place gave us the feeling it wasn’t a good institution. It was rundown, and the service was bad.

The location was the one good thing about this place. The accommodation looked nothing like the advertised pictures, and felt like a lie. There are no breakfast facilities, the pool is in another building, and there’s no lift despite there being five floors. They advertise a 24-hour reception, but when you arrive you have to ring a number to get help checking in. They take cash only. Also, don’t let them photograph your passport: when I challenged them about it, they showed me the photo was still on their phone and hadn’t been deleted. The staff were rude and had no customer service skills.
