Hotel Summer Holiday

A good hotel.

The dorm was awful, even though the room itself was spacious and nice. The mattress was incredibly hard with no cushioning, and I couldn’t rest. My body hurt. It felt like they’d crammed beds onto the rooftop. There are no walls, just wire mesh, so outside noise comes straight through. It was loud until late at night because it’s on Pub Street, and earplugs didn’t help. In the morning it was blindingly bright, with no curtains. There’s no mosquito net either. The dorm is on the fifth-floor rooftop, but there’s no elevator, and its only toilet is on the first floor beside the bar. It’s a cold shower, and the door doesn’t lock. With no walls, there’s no air conditioning. There is a large fan, but it oscillates and doesn’t cool much. Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the rooftop, so you have to go down to the second-floor landing. I found dead cockroaches in both the hallway and the toilet. The beachside location might be good, but I’ll never come back. A private room might be okay, but I didn’t see one, so I can’t say.
