Jomtien Orchid Hotel

The pool on the fourth floor was large, and the bar and restaurant there served good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Our Deluxe corner suite had a magnificent ocean view and two balconies, with about 40m2 of space. The rooms have been recently renovated and feel new. We stayed at Jomtien Thani hotel in March 2026, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Service was excellent, including from the lovely maid who prepared our room. We enjoyed the stay and would come back, as the tariff is very reasonable for the standard. Thank you to all the lovely staff.

Our stay at Jomtien Thani Hotel had some real positives, but several issues added up, especially for long-stay and international guests. The housekeeping team were consistently polite, friendly, professional, and service-minded, and they did a good job cleaning our room. Breakfast service was confusing and uncoordinated. At times there were no plates or cutlery at the buffet, and one coffee machine was broken with no clear alternative explained. There was also a strong emphasis on rules, signs, fines, and penalties, including fees for visitors and food. That made the atmosphere feel strict and controlling, which didn’t fit the image of a newly renovated international resort. A friend was charged an 800 THB fee to visit us briefly, despite not staying overnight. We hadn’t been told about this policy clearly when booking or checking in, and it felt unexpected for a 4-star hotel. None of these problems alone would have defined the visit, but together they noticeably affected it. Clearer communication, smoother breakfast service, and a more guest-friendly approach to policies could make this hotel much better.

The Jomtien area is noisy, and there was plenty of nearby construction during our three weeks here. Bring earplugs or you may need to keep the windows shut. I’d also suggest bringing or buying an electric mosquito repellent. The hotel has two wings: one has direct sea views, with city views from rooms on the opposite side; the other has side sea or city views. I initially requested a city-view room because it stays shaded during the day, but now I think the side sea-view rooms are better. The hotel has just been renovated, so everything felt fresh. We had a quiet AC, a great shower, and comfortable beds. Breakfast was quite good and covered about 90% of what nearby restaurants serve, though sadly there were no pancakes. I stayed here for three weeks with my girlfriend. The cleaning ladies were very friendly and the staff were generally good, but reception left mixed feelings. When we asked for a second room card at check-in, we were told there was only one. A helpful "bell captain" later explained that we could get another by leaving a deposit. Another odd moment was when my girlfriend asked for two forks in the dinner area, which seemed to alarm the "bell captain" desk as if she were robbing a bank.

The hotel was renovated about 2 years ago, and it’s a good spot close to the beach, bars, and restaurants. The pool area is very good, with a bar and food, and there’s a nice play area for children. Service is good but can be a little slow. Seems like a family hotel.
