Kastel Pattaya Hotel

The pool was large and very clean, and the hotel also has billiards and a gym. We didn't play for long because the billiard cue was damaged. The male front desk staff member was kind and carefully explained the hotel rules. Our room was spacious and spotless. I'd seen reviews mentioning a bad smell, but we didn't notice any unpleasant odor. There were plenty of TV channels and viewing options, which made for a good stay.

The breakfast had a great range of decent options, and the staff were courteous. We stayed two nights in this calm, peaceful spot. The interior was nice and the room felt pleasant, though the bedding was rather firm. Everything else was fine, but charging 300 BHT for a missing key felt inhuman.

Generally, it's a good hotel and the room itself was good, but there are a few things that spoiled the stay. Morning noise made it hard to sleep in, and there were so many flies outside by the nice pool that they kept bothering us. The older woman at reception yelled at me when I said the room wasn't ready. They didn't believe me until they checked, saw the beds weren't finished, and fixed them. Nobody apologized. Other reviews mention this particular older lady being rude too. There's a 1000 baht deposit on arrival. On checkout, they won't remind you to collect it, so remember to ask. There aren't many restaurants nearby.
