Katesiree House

This is a handy place to kick off the night with a beer. It’s right in the center and among the cheapest around, so I’d recommend stopping in for one.

I found the service awful. The women working there were angry and yelling at customers throughout the day, and several people left disgusted. I can’t understand why the owner keeps paying them.

The rooms can get noisy until 3 AM since the hotel sits among the bars and nightlife. They also looked better in the photos, and the facilities weren’t very good. I paid 909 baht a night, which felt too expensive to me, though it was high season, so I can understand the price. On the better side, reception was kind and let me check in at 11, and the cleaning staff did a good job.

For 22 USD a night, the rooms are decent, and so are the service and location. But there’s no elevator. We were put on the fourth floor, so each trip back to the room was a hike, especially with luggage. We stayed two days, and at 8 in the morning on the first day there was no water. I had to walk downstairs to tell them.
