Laguna Beach Resort

Yujia was the best part of my stay at Laguna Beach 1. She was kind, dependable, and quick to reply, explained things clearly, and made sure I had what I needed. She really went out of her way to make me comfortable, and I appreciated how much care she put into hosting. She's one of the best hosts I've dealt with. I found the place peaceful compared with busier parts of Pattaya, and very well maintained. My room was spacious, modern, and extremely clean, with everything working and a comfortable bed. The building felt secure too, and the friendly, professional security staff were always around. The pool was a highlight: large and clean, with a resort-like feel that made it easy to spend hours swimming or relaxing by the water. It was a great stay, and I'd come back. I recommend Laguna Beach 1 for its facilities, comfortable rooms, security, and wonderful host.

The hotel's pool area was pleasant, with a bar and food station serving fresh snacks and light meals. The daily cocktails, such as mojitos and Sex on the Beach, were a nice touch. Sunbeds were usually available until about 09:15, and staff stopped people saving them with towels until cleaning was done. Pool services shut early: the bar at 17:30, the lifeguard left at 17:50, and the pool closed at 18:00. I stayed at Laguna Park 1 for 10 nights from 18 July with my daughter and mum. After our late arrival and long journey, it was nice to find bottled water and sandwiches in the fridge because the all-inclusive service had already closed. Check-in was friendly. Housekeeping came every other day and kept the apartment clean. It was up 20 stairs, so that could be difficult for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. There was no air-conditioning, which surprised me in the heat. Reception wanted a €10 deposit for a TV remote. Wi-Fi was basically only usable near reception. Even when we could get a signal at the restaurant, there was no working internet, so bring roaming and a good data plan if you need a reliable connection. The power stayed on without a key card, which was handy for charging devices while out. All-inclusive drinks ended at 22:30, after which even soft drinks cost extra. Although the brochures mentioned children's activities like archery, mini-games, darts, and watersports, we didn't see any organized entertainment or staff involvement. There was only quiet background music for around half an hour a day. We found one cockroach in the apartment. Reception's comment, “it's like Africa here now,” wasn't reassuring. The disposable cups tended to stick to lips, and several guests mentioned getting cold sores, an odd but noticeable concern. Monkey Park is an easy taxi ride, €20 each way, with entry costing €10 for adults and €5 for children. It was worth a visit. There's a late-night shop open until 01:00, an ATM, and currency exchange beside the hotel. The hotel's Maxicart boat cruise is highly recommended, and the medieval show was excellent. A local pub across the road has free live performances.

The night lighting is lovely, and the staff are friendly. Security guards also help with heavy luggage. Still, a pack of dogs barking and howling beneath the windows at night is the biggest problem. Reception shuts overnight, there's no sauna, and the place to leave trash is inconvenient.
