Mytt Hotel Pattaya

The hotel is only a few minutes from the beach, and the rooms stayed quiet with no outside noise. I slept really well, thanks to the very comfortable beds. The rooms were clean, allergy-friendly, and even nicer than they looked in the pictures. Reception, concierge, and cleaning staff were all warm and keen to get things right.

Breakfast was a major disappointment. I had booked it with the room, but there wasn't any Indian food during my stay, the menu was identical all three days, and the food itself was below average. The buffet was supposed to run until 10:30 AM, yet staff cleared everything right at 10:30 while guests were still eating. There was no chance to get more food at the advertised time. We also had an uncomfortable checkout. Staff held us for a lengthy room inspection and raised an issue about something allegedly missing because our children had drawn with pencil and paper. It felt unreasonable and unprofessional, and left a bad final impression. On arrival around 10:00 PM, I asked for drinking water and was told it would only be brought the next morning. For a three-day stay at Mytt Hotel Pattaya, the service fell well short of what I expected from a hotel in this category. I found it lacking in professionalism, sensitivity to guests, and basic service standards. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for families or anyone expecting considerate service and reasonable food choices.

Soi 3 is a handy spot, only a short walk from the beach road and beach, with local attractions and a 7Eleven nearby. Bikes were easy to get for short trips through bolt app, and drivers had no trouble finding the hotel. The staff were great, and the stay was very pleasant overall, despite a few fixable issues. The room was clean and nice, though the balcony was so small you couldn't really sit on it. Breakfast was good, but a few more omelette choices, especially vegetables, would add variety. It would also be nice to get a bit more help during breakfast, like having someone bring coffee. A couple of things in the room need attention. The square-edged shower handle can catch you while using the toilet. The bed frame sticks out beyond the mattress, and I banged my shin on it because the duvet hid the exposed part. They provide just two 350 ml bottles of water, which seems wasteful for both guests and staff. More water would be a better use of everyone's time.

The service around checkout was especially frustrating. The hotel had extended our checkout to 3pm, but when we came back at about 2:30-2:45, we couldn't get into the room. The receptionist said it wouldn't have been a problem if we'd checked out earlier. That was unreasonable, since the hotel itself had given us the later checkout. We also spent three consecutive nights dealing with cockroaches. I called reception asking for begone, but the calls kept getting transferred and nobody followed up or brought it. The next day I was told cleaning would happen at 8pm, but when we returned, it hadn't been done. Dust was everywhere, especially around fixtures, and it triggered sinus discomfort. Daily housekeeping only made the beds and emptied the bins, with little sign of proper cleaning or attention to detail. The only thing the hotel offered was the later checkout, which didn't make up for the unhygienic room and poor service. I don't see how it can call itself a five-star property in these conditions. I wrote to Agoda, and they said the property hadn't responded. That suggests very poor management, with responsibility being shifted instead of accepted, even with its partners.
