The rooms were clean but basic, with no bathroom essentials, which I guess comes with a $13 rate. At that price, don't expect much. Check-in was awkward because the building's entrance was locked. You have to call the number posted in the window of the empty restaurant to get someone to come downstairs. If you've just arrived in Thailand and are a foreigner, that call could cost you $4. They advertised WiFi, but there wasn't any. I was told the internet provider had an issue, then saw the router was off and had no power plug connected, so clearly they had no WiFi at the time.

I paid for two nights and arrived at 21.30 to find reception closed and empty. Nobody answered when I called the number in the window. The bar girls next door saw I was frustrated and tried to get me to buy drinks at their bar, which I did. They then persuaded me to rent a room at a friend's hotel next door to sunshine hotel. The next morning I asked sunshine about my payment and the room they hadn't provided. The woman said they hadn't been paid, even though I showed her my online bank record confirming it. She didn't seem interested and told me to take it up with agoda. I spent hours messaging agoda and getting nowhere. What a waste of time. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

I booked a week ahead, arrived around 4 pm, and was told they had no room for me. It ruined the day, and they didn't offer a refund. Getting one meant going through a lot of hoops. Agoda did refund me, so I couldn't post a review there. Unprofessional. If you book, check again the day before.

Sea, the night market, events, and the bus station to Bangkok are all close by, day or night. Finding a place to stay in the best part of Jomtien isn't easy, so I put up with the musty smell. The room is huge and airy.

The room was good, with daily cleaning and room amenities provided. Everything else was good too. For check-in, you need to call the number on the gate because reception isn't always available. Overall, it was a four-star experience. Thanks.
