Phuphaya Resort Pattaya

The one thing I liked was the pool area, which was really good. The rest of my stay was a mistake. The resort felt dull when I arrived, and seemed almost empty, with only three or four rooms apparently occupied. My room had old, broken furniture, dim lights, dirty taps, cockroaches, and an old, noisy AC. There were no toiletries such as shampoo, a brush, or toothpaste, and no room service. The room phone didn't work, staff were scarce, and nobody helped with bags, so we carried them ourselves. There were no lunch or dinner facilities, and breakfast choices were very limited and tasteless. On checkout day, no water bottle was provided. There was also nowhere secure to leave bags before check-in or after checkout, with no bag lockers or safety arrangements.

It's peaceful and easy on the budget once you're inside the resort. The place looks like it's been around a long time, but the rooms are still neat and tidy. There's a pool, and breakfast is included and pretty good.

The bathroom was in very poor shape, there were no normal complimentary bathroom items, and even the towels were torn. The rooms themselves are old, and the linen wasn't changed once during our four days. Room lockers barely worked, and 70,000 Indian rupees were stolen from mine. Of our four rooms, only one had a locker in good condition; otherwise, our passports could have been stolen too. There were many other problems, but this was a very bad hotel. It's listed as four star, but I wouldn't give it even one star. For me, it's zero.

The staff were very rude. I left my new shirt in the room by mistake, and they didn't return it. It cost $100, and I'm very disappointed. Be careful with your belongings here. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
