Sandalay Resort Pattaya

The sea-facing rooms are huge and get plenty of air, and the beach is just across the road, with all the entertainment nearby. For what you pay, it's good value. The hotel is old, but the interiors seem to have been repainted and kept in decent shape. Some older items could be replaced, though it doesn't seem like they plan to put money into that.

The location is the best part: the sea is about 30 seconds away, and the blue ocean is right there when you step outside. It's peaceful and very quiet, which could suit older guests around 60+ or anyone who likes silence. There's a swimming pool, and breakfast was good. Eating while looking out at the ocean made a lovely memory. The price seems fair for the quality. The room itself needs attention. It was much darker than the online photos suggested, and the dim lighting made me uneasy and a little scared at night. The light over the bed hangs very low, while the electrical outlet is right by your head, which feels unsafe. The style is old and inconvenient, and the hotel overall needs renovation. There's only one shower head. They told me the Wi-Fi password was in the room, but I couldn't find it. Some reception staff weren't very friendly, though the cleaners and helpers were kind and approachable. The setting is amazing and calm, but the lighting, safety, and facilities need improvement.

Breakfast with the sea in view was my favorite part, and the food was pretty good. There's a touchscreen coffee machine, plus plenty of parking for cars and motorbikes. The hotel's position is lovely, with the sea straight ahead. Housekeepers were kind and friendly, unlike the reception staff. Everything else was great, but the Wi-Fi didn't quite satisfy me, even though it wasn't terrible. It could use more bandwidth. 😍

It's a little old, but I slept for over 8 hours without any worries. No problem getting meals either, the kitchen is open from early morning until nighttime. Everything was 👍
