Khao Sok Homestay Resort

The hosts were lovely, giving us rides and helping arrange whatever activities we wanted. I liked that it’s 3km from the park entrance and busy strip, though just 5 min by motorbike. The jungle sounds made it a quiet, relaxing place. We had a great stay!

We couldn’t finish booking online for two nights at THB 1.350 (€35) because our signal was bad, even though rooms had been available since morning. When we got to Khao sok bus terminal, the hotel still showed rooms available, so we went straight there. The woman quoted THB. 1800 (€49), higher than the website price. We booked at reception since the room was still available and got a confirmation, but when we asked her to check, she said it wasn’t available anymore and that she had forgotten to close it on the website. While we were there she’d said it was available, just at a different price, then after we booked said it wasn’t and that we should have reserved first. We left, not because of the price, but because the woman seemed dishonest. Conveniently, it would have ended the same way. Some people are less honest than others.

A peaceful, lovely spot for anyone wanting to be close to nature. The owner is kind, polite, and happy to help plan trips and activities in the area. Just remember it’s not a 5-star hotel with luxury. As a warm homestay in the middle of nature, it’s the best of its kind.
