Grand Riverside Hotel Phitsanulok

The bed was really comfortable, and the room was clean and nice. Breakfast was good too, with a pleasant location for eating it 🥰

I appreciated how new and clean the hotel looked, and the staff kindly brought in a single bed when my friend and I found we’d been given a double instead of the twin room I booked. That let us sleep separately, which was helpful. The frustrating part was that the reservation team claimed I hadn’t requested twin beds, even after I showed proof that I had. They said the only way to get a twin setup was to downgrade the room. I didn’t pursue it because I wasn’t asking for a downgrade. I hope they improve booking accuracy and acknowledge what happened.

The breakfast outside by the river was lovely, and the rooms are clean and modern. Wi-Fi was spectacular, service was impeccable, and it’s an easy walk into town. I’ve been coming to Plok for more than 20 years, and after the recent renovation, this is hands-down the best. The location is perfect.

Breakfast was disappointing, with very little food, everything already cold, and no juice refill. The room had a moldy smell, while the old-style air conditioner was noisy. The shower took ages to warm up and then ages to cool down again. There were plenty of switches for the lights, but the electrical sockets were a joke. None were near the beds, aside from ones for the bed lights, which are controlled by switches. It felt like they over-engineered the lighting and forgot people might want to charge their phones. The place may look new, but it feels old. It seemed like more of the money went to the giant lobby chandelier than to maintaining rooms or providing basic breakfast value.
