Khum Lanna

We spent two days and one night here with our children, who are 9 and 13, after nearly a month in Thailand. It felt like the most authentic and lovely experience of our trip. The drive from Chiang Mai was smooth and easy, about an hour and a half, with no curves, despite the remote location. We loved the cooking classes, where the owner uses herbs and vegetables picked by hand from the garden, and the massages were amazing. Cycling through the village gave us beautiful views and a look at local life. Every minute was incredible, and everyone hosting us went beyond what we expected. If you do just one thing in Northern Thailand, make it this.

During our two days there, starting November 15, we got a glimpse of village life on an early morning outing to rural villages and markets. We also cooked with the local chef and learned so many things about rice and living with it. The lantern ceremonies were happening while we were there, with lanterns rising into the air. The garden greenery and smells, the food, and the sounds of nature will stay with us. The whole time had a peaceful, mindful feel, like stepping into another world. The staff were so kind and did everything they could to make the visit a lasting, happy memory. An authentic experience for life.

My family spent three days at Khum Lanna and loved every minute. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and the food was some of the best I've ever eaten. We won't forget the cooking class or the sunrise bike ride. I'd highly recommend staying here.

The peaceful feel of the grounds and the food were highlights for us. Walking among all the different trees, herbs, and plants was amazing, and the cooking class was fun and taught us so much. Everyone on staff was kind and eager to make our stay a good one. With its decorations, wood floors, little jungle paths, and tile work, this place made a lasting impression. It was a wonderful slice of paradise and one of the best parts of our trip. We’ll come back to try more activities, and I’d recommend it if you want to relax and get away from city crowds for a while.
