Book a Bed Poshtel - Hostel

The location made getting around easy: the poshtel is right in Phuket Old Town, near a large supermarket and inexpensive places to eat, and the airport bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away. We stayed May 19-22. Our first room was split over two levels and looked onto the road and night market. A very kind Thai receptionist upgraded us to a lovely, much larger room with a balcony and bathtub, facing the other side, which we really appreciated. The air conditioning worked well, and the room stayed quiet despite lots of international guests, even in the off season. There’s a pleasant porch by the canal and pool where you can have breakfast. The simple free buffet included a tasty Thai dish; you wash your own dishes afterward, and there’s a microwave in the kitchen. We also had a basic free minibar in the room. We’d happily book again.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my stay, and I even met people from around the world who I’ll probably keep in touch with. The hostel is right in the middle of Phuket Old Town, with restaurants at all price points nearby. A small, charming night market sets up just outside two nights a week and closes around 10 pm; the Old Town night market is a 5-10 minute walk away. I stayed in a four-bed mixed room with its own toilet and shower, plus there were extra shared bathrooms available. The beds were comfortable enough, and the rooms and common area stayed surprisingly clean the whole time. Honestly, the facilities and cleanliness felt more like a hotel than a hostel.

Good for young people, with Old Town Phuket, the market, shops and spa all close by, plus easy Grab access. Breakfast is pretty basic, but you can keep food in the fridge. My room was near the pool, and the pump could get noisy when it started.

The location is handy if you want to stay in the city centre, and the place was clean. They left water and fresh towels each morning. But sleeping was really hard in my private room with a bathroom: I woke up every half hour because I could hear the neighbours and corridor so clearly. The room had no windows, which felt depressing, and it was loud in general. The pool was just okay, and the vibe felt more like a motel than a hostel or hotel.
