Kamala Tropical Garden

My husband and I spent a week here on our honeymoon, renting from Marcus. It was a perfect little place, centrally located for all the things we'd planned to do. After long days exploring Phuket, the sweet staff always welcomed us with a smile, and the rooms were nice and cool. Highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Phuket, and don't forget to say hi to Panda the dog!

After looking hard for a place in Kamala, we found this great spot tucked just off the main road, where we couldn't hear any noise. The pool area was fantastic, with chairs that made it easy to relax. Rooms were clean and tidy, with daily cleaning and fresh towels, and the place had a friendly feel. It's a three-minute walk from 7-11, ten minutes on foot to the beach, and a ten-minute cab ride up to Surin. Good food and reasonably priced beer too. Well worth a stay.

We were left trying to find somewhere to sleep for three hours, and with EDC on, every hotel we called was full. Our flight was delayed, so we reached the dark-looking hotel late and found the front desk only operates until 9 PM. Messages sent while we were in the air said the guest in our booked room had missed their flight, and told us to find another place. They cancelled our reservation at the last minute, and did the same to our friend. They may cancel whenever it suits them. Avoid this place.

Kamala wasn't really our scene, with all the girly bars and massage places. The pool here was lovely, though, and the staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. They were especially great with our infant daughter, who adored them. We booked at the last minute after our original hotel cancelled on us. Room 14 wasn't great, but the owner, Marcus, kindly moved us to room 4, which was much nicer.
