Seaview Patong Hotel

The front desk staff were so welcoming, kind, and helpful that we decided to add another night to our vacation. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with Thai wood and decor that we liked. The pools were clean and refreshing, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas for lazy afternoons. There was a great sunset across the street, and authentic street food nearby at night. We'd come back.

The pool was quiet, and it was always easy to find sunbeds. The bar shuts at 10pm, so nights stayed quiet, though there are plenty of nearby bars if you want to stay out later. The hotel is in a perfect spot at the quieter end of Patong beach. The room decor is old, but it was clean and perfectly fine. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful stay. I was cut on the tongue after chewing a piece of glass in food served at the Sea View Patong Hotel restaurant. That could have caused a much worse injury. The hotel gave a casual apology, then offered a coupon to eat again at the same restaurant as “compensation.” That felt irresponsible, and the response showed little seriousness about guest safety. The rest of the stay was frustrating too. My AC wasn't working properly, and staff didn't handle the problem adequately. Service felt poor and dismissive, and I developed facial rashes from the pillows, which raised hygiene concerns for me. Even with all those problems and the distress I experienced, the hotel held ₹7,000 INR as a security deposit. It failed on basic safety, hygiene, service, and accountability. An apology doesn't undo an injury or an uncomfortable stay. I'd caution future guests to think twice before staying or dining there. Guest safety should never be optional.

The breakfast buffet had a good variety, though the food was below average. The location was just OK, quite far from the nicer side, so I wouldn't stay here again. We had connecting rooms for the kids, and they were spacious, but the AC was always an issue in one room. The hallways by the elevator have no AC because they're open, and stepping into the elevator felt like being in a hot sauna. You also have to leave a deposit. The front desk staff were very unfriendly and wouldn't make eye contact. That was disappointing, especially since the rest of the people in the country are so amazing.
