Sino House Patong

The room was clean, which matters a lot to us, and housekeeping came each day to make the beds, change the towels, clean up, and leave fresh water and snacks. The staff were polite and pleasant too. Sino House is close enough to walk to the Old Town and its main streets, and there’s a 7-Eleven right across the road. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it. :)

The location is great, but the rooms aren’t all in the same condition. I booked a deluxe room and found the furniture old. After switching to an executive room on the 4th floor, the difference was huge. Those rooms are really nice.

Room 406, which we booked as a Deluxe, was spacious and clean. It had a TV in both the bedroom and living room, with YouTube, Prime, and other access, plus a dining table and microwave. There were steel spoons, forks, and soup bowls in the room, and the hotel has an elevator. The reception and housekeeping staff were friendly. With 7/11 across the street, it was easy to bring back something for a late-night meal. The bathroom setup was inconvenient for shaving and similar things because its mirror is on a side wall instead of above the wash basin. The bath water got warm enough, though it never became very hot.

The location worked really well for us. Thalang Rd is about a six-minute walk away, the grounds were tidy, and both of our rooms, 217 and 218, were large. The staff were approachable and very friendly. One person, I think his name was suong, was especially kind and helpful during his shifts starting at 2pm. He went above and beyond. The bathrooms in both rooms were full of mould, and I didn’t want to shower in ours. I wore thongs in the shower to avoid the mould and slipped. The bedding underlay on the bed in room 217 was badly stained, as shown in the photos. Both rooms had a fold-out lounge. My mum slept in the bed, and my daughter slept on the lounge sofa, so we asked for bedding for it. At first they said they didn’t have enough. When we asked again the next day, they brought a sheet but said we’d have to pay to have it cleaned. I pointed out that the room was advertised as having a queen bed and a sofa bed, and they agreed to provide just the sheet without charge. My mum ended up using towels as a cover because the underlay was wrong in so many ways. That’s why I gave the room one star.
