Sugarpalm Suan Luang by Nongrit

The location is great, about five minutes from old town, with plenty of restaurants around. One of the best is right next door, o oh ! Rooms can vary since many are privately owned, but they’re spacious and very quiet.

We stayed two nights at Sugar Palm Residence. It’s in a good, quiet location, and the room was clean and comfortable. I’m not giving it five stars because there was no spare toilet paper roll, so we had to buy one ourselves. In a hotel, I’d expect not to have to do that.

The hotel’s slippers were described as “one-time usable,” but we found that they were actually washed and given to other guests again. It was embarrassing, and when the pair we used at the beach tore, we threw them away. The hotel still demanded that we return the torn slippers and charged us heavily because we couldn’t. They weren’t even listed among the hotel’s belongings, so we’d assumed they were complimentary. The way the situation was handled felt unfair and unprofessional. The staff were extremely rude and showed no care. I was very disappointed with both the staff and the hotel policy.
