Tuana Blue Sky Patong

We came back to Blue Sky after a great first visit, but two years later it was awful. It seems no maintenance had been done in that time. We booked two rooms and asked for quiet ones, yet got rooms by the road with horrendous noise. For four days in a row they said they'd move us somewhere quieter, but it never happened. The mattresses badly need replacing, there was a mould farm in the bathrooms, and not once were the bathrooms cleaned during our 10-day stay. Reception was no help and offered no solutions. They spoke in their own language in front of us, which felt rude. On top of that, a large rat ran around the restaurant on two nights in a row. Stay somewhere else until the place is updated.

The pictures bore no resemblance to what we found, and the whole place seemed run-down. Our rooms weren't cleaned properly and had stains everywhere. When we complained, staff just laughed at us. Service was extremely bad. We couldn't get a refund from either the booking site or the hotel. When we tried to sort out a refund and switch hotels, staff also seemed to give the booking site false information. Absolutely not recommended.

The location is great, and the room was spacious with a mountain view, so noise wasn't a problem for me. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the fridge was good too. For the price, it's okay. What bothered me was mould covering the toilet blinds, large rats outside right beside reception, and poor customer service.

Rooms facing the main road were noisy all day and night. Prices were fair in low season, but far too high during high season. It's a reasonable two-star hotel, with very friendly, attentive reception staff and rooms that are mostly clean. Still, it's pretty common to have to go back to reception over missing things or problems, like batteries missing from the safe, a dripping air conditioner, or not enough towels. Management kept assuring us that every room gets a proper check before guests arrive, so don't expect anything to improve.
