I stayed in February 2026 in a deluxe villa with a private pool, and the problems were bad enough before dealing with the staff made the stay a nightmare. The General Manager was away on holiday. The bathtub didn’t work, so we asked to switch rooms. In the replacement, the toilet made a piercing noise loud enough to hear outdoors. Technicians came and changed parts, but the noise returned after they left. We called them back four times because they wouldn’t stay to check whether the repair had worked. Eventually we gave up and put up with the high-pitched sound day and night. Getting around was also a hassle. The paths to the rooms are exposed to the sun, so the usual way to reach a villa from reception or the restaurants is the free tuk-tuk. One time we waited 20 minutes outside after calling, even though the expected wait was 10. We went to the spa during opening hours once and found nobody there. Messages to the spa and reception through the Centara app went unanswered. After in-room dining, we were told to leave our used plate and tray outside for collection. They sat on the floor until the evening of the following day. There was also a payment problem. My debit account was charged, but the hotel said it hadn’t received the money, so they made me pay again, effectively charging twice. They promised to reimburse us if they received the first payment, but couldn’t guarantee I’d get the money back. I still haven’t been reimbursed. By the way, their Google Maps replies all seem automated, like the one below. They don’t give a damn about customer needs or feedback.

The setting is lovely, with ocean views from this villa-style hotel and a quiet feel away from city noise. The room and bathroom were roomy and very clean. Staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast is a buffet, there are two restaurants on site, and they provide an umbrella and two pairs of sandals. After 2pm, you can also use the facilities at the sister property, Centara Grand, by showing your room key. Getting to the villa takes effort. You can call reception for a tuk-tuk or climb a lot of stairs. Ours was about 140 steps up. Some of the fittings feel old, including the locks, windows, and faucets, and the doors still use physical keys instead of key cards. The bathroom has bars, screens, and shutters instead of glass window panes, so bugs can get in. I noticed stains on the curtains too, and blackout curtains would help keep sunlight from waking you. The air conditioning stopped cooling when set below 21°C. The beach path takes about 15 minutes to walk, and its access gate closes early, at 6pm.

The villas were clean and roomy, with lovely terrace views, and the resort was well organized. You could order the internal shuttle through an app. Staff were very friendly, and the food was good. Dinner at the restaurant came with a wonderful view. The weak point was the pool area. Both pools are quite small, with too little room for sunbeds and umbrellas. I’d gladly come back, but that’s why I’m giving it 4 out of 5.

I first came here with my family 13 years ago and still have great memories of the place. The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was included and very good. The restaurant serves tasty food, with live music on some nights. The pool area is a great place to relax. There’s also a larger Centara resort down by the beach where you can enjoy the pool and food and drink options. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we even met the hotel manager several times because he regularly checked in with guests. I’ll remember this resort and hope to visit again someday.

The rooms are big and clean, and the air conditioning cools them quickly. I liked the Thai-style breakfasts. The pools are still fine to use, though they look like they were in better shape a few years ago and could use restoration. The beach path closes at 6pm. If you stay later in the village, you’ll need to take a taxi back, since the street has no sidewalk.
