Ratana Platinum Resort Kamala

A few minutes on foot from Kamala Beach made the location especially convenient. I stayed at Ratana Platinum Resort with a friend, and we had a great time. The room was clean and comfortable, the atmosphere relaxed, and the staff stayed friendly and helpful throughout. When we arrived, they greeted us with cold tea and helped carry our luggage to the room. Those small gestures made us feel looked after. Everything went smoothly, and we’d definitely stay again. Great people and good vibes.

My terrace room was nice and spacious, and being at the back meant it was okay for sleeping with earplugs. The bathroom’s glass walls were an interesting solution, though I was travelling alone. The hotel is on the main road near shops and restaurants, with the beach about 10 minutes away. I booked a few trips, and those operators picked me up and dropped me at the hotel, but keep in mind not all do. A taxi ride to Phuket and the airport takes about an hour. I used Bolt and it was fine. There can be traffic near Phuket even around midday.

I stayed four nights in a huge Superior Twin room without a window. Sheets and bathroom were clean, towels were clean, the shower worked very well, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. Staff were super friendly and kept asking if everything was okay. The restaurant is convenient and the food is very good, though prices are a bit higher than outside. A safety passcode issue was sorted in about five minutes. It’s around a 15-minute walk to the beach, and 7/11 is right in front. I really recommend the place. The downside was the paper-thin walls, especially in a room with no windows. It felt like a space had been put into the corridor, so I could hear people walking to their rooms, the elevator, and the cleaning staff. On the first night, drunk tourists were slamming doors and shouting until 3 AM, then housekeeping started at 8 AM, so I couldn’t sleep. Be prepared for that kind of room. Other rooms are probably better.

After checking out early from a nightmare stay at our previous hotel in Karon, we arrived at Ratana Resort to warm smiles and reassuring answers to my questions. It helped restore my faith after the last place. Ratana Platinum Resort is a lovely hotel with what you need nearby, including a local supermarket a short walk away. Our room was perfect, with a very comfortable bed and an amazing shower and bath. The rooftop pool was wonderful at sunrise and again at sunset. Best of all, the staff were helpful and welcoming every day. The beach is a short walk away, with lots of places to eat around the hotel, so it’s central for enjoying Kamala Beach. I know where I’ll stay on my next Phuket trip. Thank you 🙏
