I checked in and was shown a small, claustrophobic room without ventilation. It had such a strong mold smell that I felt it could be a health risk. When I complained, the owner laughed and handed me a chemical spray. The smell of that made me dizzy. They offered me another room on the 4th floor for an extra 200 baht, and that one smelled okay, but I didn’t take it. I left the money behind and went looking for somewhere I could trust more. Stay away.

The room was tiny, with no fresh air, and the pillows, towel and glasses were very dirty. The front desk staff had poor manners and weren’t friendly to customers. The service was bad, and I was really disappointed.

Parking is the main drawback. There’s only a small space in front of the hostel for four cars, and it’s shared with the vet next door. The place is basic but clean. They provide coffee, bread and instant noodles for breakfast, and there’s a small, cozy pantry on the ground floor.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the price was very fair. The hotel is in a very exposed spot, though, so I often heard trains and the traffic outside. If you have business in Salaya, I can recommend staying here.
