The sea was a crab spawning area, so I didn't go in, though I did see a crab family for the first time. The hotel itself is lovely and very quiet, with a nice pool. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very nice and helpful.

We had no complaints and loved our five nights at the Verano Beach Villa Resort. It's right on the beach, clean throughout, quiet, and relaxing. If you're after lively nightlife, this probably ISN'T the place, but for a peaceful beach stay it was just right. I got up each morning to watch the sunrise, walk along the beach, collect seashells, and take nature photos. There were a few other people around, but it never felt crowded. The food was delicious, and although we used Google Translate to talk with the staff beyond ordering basic food, it worked fine. I have some food limitations, and they were very accommodating. The staff were attentive and helpful. They arranged drivers and massages for us, and packed breakfast for our early departure.

I stayed here once for a quick one night trip. The resort layout meant there were lots of mosquitoes, and the swimming pool is tiny. I wouldn't stay again unless there was a really good discount.

A nice, calm place in Puk tien, Phetchaburi if you want to get away from crowds. The breakfast is good enough, with Thai food and a simple American breakfast.
