Starlight Beach Resort

The bungalows have everything you need and were clean. The ones near the restaurant look out over the beach and that wonderfully blue sea, and the restaurant generally serves very good food. At the beach entrance, a deck with chairs gives you shade and a light sea breeze in the midday heat. Todd and the whole team work hard to make sure guests are comfortable and try to help with whatever people need. There are friendly, smiling faces everywhere, which made the stay a lovely experience. A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday, and I'll gladly come back.

The setting is beautiful, right on Buffalo Bay, with lush grounds and a deck with loungers overlooking the beach. The food is excellent, and the staff are charming. NIT and the reception team deserve five stars, as does the female Thai co-owner. Our stay in the brick bungalow was a real disappointment. We found the American co-owner self-centered, rude, and unprofessional. The dark bungalow was oppressively hot, with only two fans and no AC, and its “garden view” description felt misleading. It faced a small path where guests and staff were constantly walking back and forth. In my opinion these bungalows urgently need air conditioning, and I strongly advise against renting one.

We spent a week here. It's clean and lovely, with wonderful staff, and the beach and location are the best on Koh Phayam. Thanks for your hospitality, and for keeping the beach clean and cutting down on plastic. Good luck with the freedom of Birmanie.

I originally booked two nights, but after staying here a week I found it hard to leave this beautiful spot. The manager, a very friendly man from Myanmar, does everything he can to make your stay pleasant. The garden is full of flowers, plants, and lovely trees, and it's well maintained. The bungalows are clean and roomy enough, with balconies and hammocks. If you can get one with a sea view, do. I definitely recommend the resort.
