Sudee Villa

I lived in villa number 6 for four months, and it was the worst place and owner I’ve encountered in Thailand. The photos must be years old: everything is worn out, and no one seems to maintain it. Even the sunbeds smelled. The pool was green and dirty three days out of every week. They’d say that was how cleaning worked and to wait one or two days. Both room AC units leaked for three months and were still leaking when I left, so I kept a pan underneath to stop water flooding the floor. The owners didn’t fix them. The microwave had to be replaced because it didn’t work when I moved in. Huge cockroaches were inside from day one. The owners told me to buy spray, so I ended up dealing with the pests myself rather than having them call pest control. There were many more problems, and no one cared enough to apologize or put things right promptly. I bought basic household items, including towels, bedsheets, and cutlery, because they were missing or old and rusty. I managed to move out early and asked for a discount because of all the trouble. They refused without shame. Then, on moving day, they charged me for four days of overstaying, even though we hadn’t discussed that and they hadn’t told me it would count as an overstay when I was leaving before the contract ended. These are the most inconsiderate landlords I’ve met here. Do yourself a favor and don’t move there, especially at the prices they’re raising for such an awful place. It isn’t worth it.

We picked this place for a family holiday with our child because we wanted to be near Nai Harn Beach and the Rawai restaurants, at a reasonable peak-season price. The owner was very hard to deal with. She either doesn’t understand English or pretends not to, so sorting out problems was difficult. We wanted to cook for our child, but the gas stove didn’t work. Something in the pool broke, and they couldn’t repair or clean it, so the water was green. The water supply would shut off while we were doing laundry or showering, and we had to call to get it turned back on. There was no iron or ironing board, and the microwave worked only intermittently. Cleaning after the previous guest wasn’t provided unless we paid 4,000 baht. At least there were no ants or cockroaches like in other rooms, and the old air conditioners didn’t leak. But they barely worked and seemed not to have been serviced in a long time, spreading bacteria. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you don’t have kids, don’t need to cook or use a pool, don’t mind dirt and missing amenities, and can’t afford somewhere better.

I stayed from October 24-26, 2020, and the owner treated me like family, with excellent service and lots of help suggesting places to visit and restaurants. The accommodation was clean, lovely, and very private, so it worked well for families or small groups of friends. Parties and loud get-togethers aren’t suitable unless you book the entire place, haha. Best to check with the owner first. I’d give it a perfect score.

The villas are beautiful, but cleanliness was disappointing and visibility was poor. The location also isn’t very central.
