Bayview Resort Rayong

The snorkelling right in front of BayView Resort was excellent. I actually found it better than a recent snorkelling tour to Koh Haa, and you can go whenever you like. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly, and both the bungalow AC and Queen Suite I booked were spacious, tidy, and had everything needed. The views were fantastic from both, especially the Queen Suite. It’s in a quiet spot away from the fancy resort crowd, so you get a different kind of traveller. They also make a real effort to care for the environment and protect the local flora and fauna. Town is within walking distance, and I felt safe walking there alone as a woman even at night. It’s far enough from walking street and the busier, more popular beaches to avoid the crowds.

The staff at reception were friendly and got us checked in quickly, though the 2pm check-in was enforced pretty strictly and they wanted a 500b deposit. We paid 1700b a night, which seemed fair for the room. It had a little fridge, kettle and small TV, though we never turned the TV on. The bathroom had a warm Western-style shower, but there was a whining noise from the water system. We were mostly out, so we put up with it. There’s parking out front and around the side, and seafood restaurants, bars and a 7/11 aren’t far away. The resort is right across the road from the beach. We only used it as a place to sleep, so I can’t say much about the other amenities. It’s nice, though there seemed to be better options nearby, so I’d look around first. No room service, which felt unusual and wasn’t great.

The people were cool, and the beach right nearby is lovely for swimming or just relaxing. I had a really good stay and would recommend the place. I’m sure I’ll come back sometime. Only thing I’d change is giving the bathrooms a more thorough clean.

At night it’s really quiet, with little fairy lights in the garden. The bungalows sit far enough apart to give you privacy, and most are angled so you get at least a bit of sea view. The gardens are nicely kept, with lots of plants and trees and lush grass. Each one has its own patio and outdoor seats.
