Banana Resort Sadao

At early checkout they’d already packed breakfast boxes for us, which was a really kind touch since we hadn’t asked. We’d stay again when passing through, especially as Hat Yat is getting too crowded. It’s a large, quiet resort quite far from things, so having a car or motorbike helps. There aren’t many eateries nearby, though there’s plenty of parking. The pool is big, with lots of shade and seats. Local outside guests sometimes used it in a way that made us uncomfortable, though I understand the resort needs the revenue. The place was very clean. The front office team were polite and friendly, and responded quickly on Line in good English. The rooms aren’t new or trendy, but they’re comfortable enough and have a hairdryer and mini fridge. There’s a 300 THB cash deposit per room, returned at checkout. We had a serene, quiet two-day stay.

The owner speaks perfect English and was lovely. When we headed off on our bikes, he gave each of us snacks and drinks for the ride, such a thoughtful gesture. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was warm and friendly. It’s a peaceful spot with a pool, mini bar, snack and drink shop, plus a washing machine and dryer guests can use.

We stayed one night before heading back to Malaysia, and I’d come again. The hotel was clean inside and out, and the mini bar had a good selection at reasonable prices. They ask for a 300 baht deposit, and toothbrushes and toothpaste are available to buy. The bed felt a bit too hard for me, and there wasn’t any toilet paper, though that wasn’t a big deal. It’s in a quiet neighborhood away from the main road. We drove, so the distance didn’t bother us, and it was only five minutes from central Sadao, where we found plenty of good restaurants and eateries. We enjoyed seeing the stars at night and walking around the neighborhood in the morning.

I had dinner at a restaurant just a short walk away and really enjoyed the meal. The hotel is family owned and run, and more facilities are being built. It’s in a quiet, tree-filled area on land that used to be the family banana plantation, which explains the name. I arrived without a reservation and one of the owners made me feel welcome right away. While I checked in, they served butterfly Pea tea made fresh from their own plants. My room was neat, clean and comfortable, with a window looking out over the countryside. The bed and pillow gave me a great night's sleep, and the shower room was pleasant to use. It’s a wonderful place to stay, and I’d recommend it to travelers or people on business.
